Job Description

The successful candidate will join an existing Supply Chain Team, within a growing engine manufacturing business. This new position has been created to enhance the existing team due to a growth in the orderbook size and increased complexity. The roll will be an interesting mixture of Purchasing and Logistics tasks. This is a high-end product for one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers in the ‘super car’ market. The engines are made up from over 400 component parts sourced globally from over 100 suppliers.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

 

Managing the supply of parts from over 100 suppliers within a Global Supply Chain.
Placing orders and expediting engine components.
Collaborating with other functions to resolve technical and quality concerns.
Visiting suppliers to carry out Business Reviews in the UK and overseas
Creating supplier delivery schedules.
Resolving commercial issues.
Supporting the Logistics team in busy warehouse environment
Identifying and initiating Lean techniques.
Managing the supply of engine components to an external customer base.

 

 

Candidates Skills & Experience

 

Essential

 

Experienced in Supplier management.
Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
Advanced Microsoft Office user, particularly Excel.
Effective communication skills.
Available to travel overseas with sufficient notice.
Relevant Purchasing experience.
Team management experience.
Full Driving Licence.

 

 

Desirable

 

Previous user of Baan ERP system.
Experience in Supplier scheduling.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Experience of purchasing in the Automotive sector
Project Management experience.
Exposure to working in a Logistics/Warehouse environment - directly or indirectly
