Job Description

Ricardo Strategic Consulting (RSC) is a leading strategic consultancy, complementing Ricardo’s 100-year heritage of engineering and technical excellence.  We are developing the marketing, sales and delivery of our Knowledge Solutions, which includes news bulletins and database subscriptions, subscription-based consultancy support and training and are looking for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager to identify, develop and deliver digital products or services to be sold via our new eStore.

A hybrid role for new product introduction process management and content writing, the main function of this role is to manage the effective implementation of new eStore products from idea generation to market introduction, including quality control, and is crucial to the culture and development of digital services and products within RSC.

You will report into the Ricardo Knowledge Commercial Manager, work alongside Information professionals and have access to the knowledge and insights of RSC’s global consultants. This is a new position within RSC and will require close collaboration with internal business stakeholders  and global consultants both within RSC and across the Ricardo Group, to deliver products that meet customer needs and exceed expectations. We are looking for a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and close attention to detail. Organisation and project management skills will be of immediate and ongoing value to the team as will your ability to close out projects. Key Responsibilities

Based on Industry best practice, define, implement and deliver an agile New Product Introduction process
Act as the bastion on the NPI process and become the internal expert to internally promote the process both within RSC and across the Ricardo Group as a whole
Shape new eStore products from internal expertise, customer  research, market analysis and competitor understanding to maintain a regular cadence of new products

Collaborate across RSC (with global teams of management consultants and eCommerce performance manager) to identify and plan opportunities for new products for the eStore (e.g. Insight reports, news bulletins, eLearning)
Work with stakeholders to define the business case for each New Product Introduction including defining the 4Ps (Product, Place, Price and Promotion) to ensure an appropriate Return on Investment (ROI) is achieved for the business
Develop and maintain a plan for regular new product introductions / updates

Identify and select key 3rd party partners to work with in order identify products within their portfolio which would align with our aspirations and enhance the overall eStore offering by providing a more holistic offering to our clients
In collaboration with internal teams and key stakeholders as appropriate to develop and execute delivery programmes for each new product. Including;

Managing milestones for development and launch
Developing go-to-market plans, including product marketing and pricing

Support the writing of insight reports
Ensure quality of product
Commercially focused with a keen eye on the measurable success of each product and ensuring where new products are created they offer increased value for the business

Continuously review new products performance using data supplied by eCommerce performance manager and discuss with Commercial Manager to evaluate what does / doesn’t work and revise NPI plans as required




Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience with agile product development lifecycle
Ability to develop and manage insight products or services
Strong commercial awareness
Experience of new product introduction preferably within an “insight environment”
Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task projects of short-, medium-, and long-term time ranges
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues
Flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team as a participant and leader
Collaborate and work well within multiple organisational and functional departments
Automotive / mobility experience or interest a plus
