Job Description

Chief Engineer and work package owner for development projects in the fields of combustion processes, performance and emissions development, calibration
Identification of technologies, markets, trends and customers to develop new (products) services aligned to market needs
Manage engine, waste heat recovery and heating/cooling related activities with technology team
Develop new solutions and work with the project team to define novel plant and integrated, packaged solutions
Engage with stakeholders and identify costs and performance requirements and to derive end-customers and value propositions
Technical and commercial responsibility for the project handling from offer to delivery
Knowledge of automotive technology (charging, variable valve actuators, direct injection, OBD)
Interface to 1D-3D simulation and testing
Flexible and collaborative approach, delivering high value, high quality solutions to time and within budget
Quotations and direct customer contact with customers (in Europe, Asia and America) all over the world
Establishment of evaluation and analysis methods such as combustion analysis and combustion diagnostics
Presentations in front of the customer

 

Personal Specification:

 

Technical studies and several years of professional experience in the field of thermodynamics development and calibration (experiences on motorcycle necessary)
Detailed, subject-specific knowledge in relation to the above aspects and an extensive technical background
Entrepreneurial awareness and flexibility
Enjoy taking on responsibility and the ability to manage and develop employees
A sound motorcycle (motorcycle industry, markets and products) knowledge and interest
Motorcycle driving license
Ability to identify, generate and deliver new projects and also to set standards for technical excellence
Strong analytical approach to determine development processes in an automotive/motorcycle environment
Knowledge of budget and project delivery control
Methodical approach to issue investigation and resolution
Experience working with a global customer base
Willingness to undertake some travel (Global customer visits)
Strong communication and presentation skills
Very good English skills
