The Background:

The Ricardo Knowledge Digital Sales Manager will be responsible for planning, leading and coordinating sales activities related to content-rich databases, technical subscriptions, and digital learning tools.

The main function of the Digital Sales Manager is to support the achievement of RSC sales growth targets by;

Sourcing, targeting and winning new business from clients through a combination of self-generated and incoming leads from proactive marketing campaigns
Owning relationships with existing accounts in order to identify opportunities to upsell

Key responsibilities


Define and execute a strategy that ensures predictable, repeatable, and scalable sales results
Develop detailed sales plan to align with company objectives and integration with marketing and superior brand positioning
Provide insight to leadership team on trends and opportunities within the Information Services market
Partner with other members of the product teams to monitor and maximize revenue per user
Actively and professionally manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation and lead management to prospecting, arranging appointments, negotiating, closing and handing over new accounts to the Customer Account Coordinator
Ensure that all sales opportunities are fully qualified 
Proactively build, manage and maintain a substantial pipeline and to ensure that all pipeline activity is accurately documented and kept up-to-date in the CRM system

Use CRM dashboards to provide regular reporting on activity

Respond to any incoming leads from sales & marketing campaign activity
Attend relevant events to promote and sell Ricardo Knowledge products nationally and internationally if required





Review existing client base and segmentation on a regular basis to identify potential market opportunities
Identify opportunities for new products or services based on client requirements

Work with Ricardo Knowledge team to develop business case, as appropriate

Work closely with marketing to develop an integrated sales and marketing approach

To ensure effective promotion of Ricardo Knowledge products in support of sales activities to grow our customer base

Analytical skills to collect business intelligence by conversing with clients and identifying /monitoring trends in data reports



Key competencies and experience

Demonstrable experience and track record as a digital sales lead
Comprehensive knowledge of content marketing especially valuable
Experience of relationship management best practice within a Business-to-Business or Business-to-Consumer environment
Proven ability in effective implementation of sales strategy and positive engagement with customers and colleagues
Professional, organised, disciplined individual who has a track record of effectively and efficiently building relationships
Experience working in a global company that operates in multiple countries desirable
Ability to transform generic strategic direction into tactical action plans
Knowledge of Google Analytics is advantageous
