Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head of Business Development – UK, and playing an active role in the growth strategy for Ricardo Automotive and Industrial business in the UK, the position will cover:

Proactively supporting the successful implementation and further development of the sales strategy in the UK
Leading / coordinating / supporting regional sales initiatives as required
Developing and maintaining client intimacy and close contact with engineering procurement champions at UK-based client accounts, to identify, qualify and communicate their needs to the appropriate Service Line leaders and Engineering Capability heads in Ricardo
Developing and maintaining client intimacy and close contact with the purchasing department champions within the target companies
Working with the Ricardo teams (Service Lines, Operations, and Legal/Finance), to develop and promote attractive value propositions, sales presentations, and bids
Presenting or supporting presentation of the propositions as appropriate
Coordinating and managing the sales process

Sales actions plans, in line with regional order intake (OI) objectives
High quality client-visit reports
Capture plans for specific opportunities
Sales and proposals/bids presentations as required, with active follow-up and intelligence gathering
Negotiation with client purchasing/finance stakeholders to close OI/cash

Ensuring best practice tracking and forecast of sales to UK clients

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATION

A good degree in an engineering discipline
Significant sales experience in Business-to-Business engineering services
Deep understanding of the UK automotive and/or industrial markets, products and OEM/Tier1 requirements
Good understanding of engineering offerings across automotive and industrial propulsion systems including Engines, Transmission & Driveline, HV Batteries, Power Electronics, Motors and Drives systems
