We are actively searching for a Consultant to join the Technology Strategy team in Ricardo Strategic Consulting (RSC).
You will be involved in winning and delivering projects for our customers across the automotive, transport and power sector value chains, covering:
Technology and market studies. These studies combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to answer a range of questions: How will the technologies develop in the next few years? What are the leading products and technologies in the market? What technologies do we need to achieve our future targets? Who are the most important companies?
Includes: technology roadmapping, adoption scenario modelling/forecasting, competitive benchmarking of products and technologies
Strategic analysis. We also help our customers plan for the future: What will shape future markets? How will technologies, products and services develop over the coming decades? What should our strategic roadmap look like?
Includes: new product / technology strategy development, assessing market drivers/customer needs, futures research and scenario planning
Our consultants are involved in every phase of a consulting engagement, from pre-proposal research through to final implementation, working with a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced RSC team. Our projects are typically 4-12 weeks in length, giving RSC employees exposure to varied projects across several industry sectors.
Consultants at Ricardo are the core of a consulting team and lead substantial portions of the customer engagement, from pre-proposal research through to final project delivery.
Our Consultants’ tasks include:
Taking responsibility for one or more project modules or for smaller projects the whole project with oversight from a Project Director
Structuring and managing the project process for the assigned modules or small project
Performing high value qualitative and quantitative research
Providing input into developing solutions to customer problems
Synthesising conclusions into recommendations
Working with senior team members to develop project proposals and advance client development initiatives
Working with senior team members to prepare and deliver high-impact presentations and facilitating client workshops
Collaborating and developing relationships with colleagues from across RSC and wider Ricardo to facilitate joint projects
Managing task delivery from Business Analysts

A passion for technology, you will have considerable years’ relevant industry experience
Experience and knowledge of Circular economy and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) or Scenario planning would be an advantage
Track record of consistently delivering high-impact results to meet client needs
Experience of developing client relationships at an operational level on projects and tasks
Excellent problem solving and stakeholder engagement skills
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or MBA is preferred (Degree qualified in a relevant scientific, engineering, environmental, economic or technical subject)
Ability to quickly understand a range of technical and strategic subjects, and to creatively combine to provide compelling insight
