Ricardo Software is responsible for the development, sales and support of advanced engineering analysis software for power-train and vehicle systems, with a worldwide customer base including major automotive manufacturers and tier one suppliers. Our software products comprise tools for the analysis of fluid and mechanical engine, powertrain and vehicle systems, with well-established brands

in fluid dynamics modelling such as VECTIS. VECTIS provides efficient and streamlined workflow for fluid dynamics and conjugate heat transfer modelling using advanced CFD algorithms. VECTIS team focusses on development of software supporting fast, robust and efficient solutions to complex CFD problems, in order to enable our customers worldwide to address their engineering challenges through virtual product development and analysis processes.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced CFD Software Developer to drive the development of the core of our flagship CFD solver and contribute to the solution of the engineering challenges facing the world through development of advanced CAE functionality. The successful candidate who will join the development team is expected to possess:

- Excellent knowledge and experience in design, analysis and implementation of  CFD methods

- Good experience of implementation of CFD methods in commercial or academic codes in at least one of the following areas:  pressure-based methods, linear solvers, turbulence modelling, complex mesh

- Application area expertise in one of the following will be considered and advantage:

conjugate heat transfer/cooling
rotating machinery
combustion processes
external aerodynamics

Skills and Abilities

1.Education to an MSc level (PhD strongly preferred) in CFD. Reasonable experience in research and development in CFD

2.Excellent knowledge of fluid mechanics and computational methods

3.Experience with the applications of CFD using in-house, open-source or commercial packages 

4.Experience in the development and implementation of computational models.

5.Excellent programming skills using modern programming languages (e.g. FORTRAN C, C++)

6.Ability to work independently as well as with others in a geographically diverse team environment.

7.Knowledge of Linux/Windows development environments and revision control systems is desirable.

 

Salary is dependent on expertise and experience.
