Job Description

The Role

As a Project & Customer Support Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support within a team that assembles and tests multiple supercar and motorsport driveline systems. 

This is a hands-on role and will be the primary contact between Ricardo and the customer for production support, any problem diagnosis required and providing timely resolutions as necessary. 

You would also be responsible for leading the Aftersales service programmes for each customer.  This role may involve travel to the customer in UK and European locations, for short term periods at short notice.

Key Responsibilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Focal for customer technical queries for key driveline systems.
  • Leading and delivering the Aftersales Service Programmes for Supercar Programmes.
  • Supporting production with technical knowledge as required.
  • Report writing to cover all aspects of investigations and details both top level and technically detailed.
  • Leading test rig upgrades / maintenance / spares management.
  • Responsible for strategy development for the End of Line test rigs.
  • Strategy development for e-machines and EDUs from process and testing perspective.
  • Support for New Product Introductions.
  • Direct reports – manage their day-to-day work and development.

Personal Specification

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a degree qualified Engineer with demonstrable knowledge of test rigs and test environments including data acquisition (CANape, Simulink, Labview).  Experience in the automotive industry is preferable but not essential.
  • Have a solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical system diagnostic.
  • Understand a production environment of a low volume, niche manufacturer.
  • Hands on skills to be directly involved in strip and inspection of transmission systems, repair of wiring and machining capability.

Preferable skills (can be developed so not essential)

  • Basic knowledge of electrical motors, inverters and drive units.

General Skills

  • Engineering mind with customer and operational focus.
  • Interface directly with customers and suppliers on technical issues, with the ability to explain complex issues to a range of stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal and customer facing skills.
  • Be proactive, self-motivated, and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork, organizational, oral communication, and written communication skills.
  • Able to present data in clear, concise, and confident manner in meetings with technician to director level attendees.
  • Financial acumen to support aftersales role.

This role is 100% based onsite at Leamington Spa, Monday to Friday.
