We are seeking a CNC machine setter/operator in our gear cutting department working as part of a small team to deliver high quality transmission components for the motorsport /aerospace industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be expected to set, operate as well as create and edit programmes on the following machines with Siemen’s control.

Gleason GP300 ES Shaping machine

Gleason-Pfauter 200 Hobbing machine

Liebherr LC20 Hobbing machine

With the right first-time philosophy.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Cutting Knowledge of the following:

Spur Gears

Helical Gears

Splines

Sherlocks & Slots

 

Skills/attributes

CNC Hobbing & Shaping machines

Siemen controls.

 

Experience/Qualifications

Engineering apprenticeship

Working in a small batch gear cutting section with the ability to work with minimum supervision

Has the ability to check own work using a Klingenberg P26 gear graphing machine, pins and span micrometres.

 

Essential

Can do attitude.

Flexibility with regards to moving onto a different department when required.
