Job Description

As a Senior Programme Manager at Ricardo, you will be responsible for successfully leading the a number of delivery complex fast paced projects simultaneously to diverse global Customers. 

You will work cross functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, assembly, commercial and others to support Ricardo’s Customers over the lifecycle of their project.  You will be responsible for delivery, commercial exposure, opportunities and risks whilst delivering cutting edge solutions to our Customers. You will also be responsible for the account management for some customers through the whole lifecycle of programmes 

You must be able to demonstrate a proven record of delivering technical fast paced projects to deadlines, quality and costs with customer satisfaction.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Overall project leadership of multiple complex projects.  Responsible for delivering on-time, on-budget with quality to achieve high levels of Customer satisfaction
Being the senior Customer interface for the project, establishing strong and effective Customer relationships.  This will include leading project reviews, creation and management of complex timing plans and minutes without guidance. 
Provide Customer support through the program lifecycle including Aftersales.  Preparing for and leading quarterly Customer reviews.  Can anticipate the Customer’s needs.
Be able to positively influence Operations to ensure repeatable on time delivery of project deliverables
Ensuring projects are delivered in adherence with Ricardo’s internal project management policies and procedures.  Being able to identify opportunities to improve these processes and implement these.
Leading preparation of complex Customer proposals (scope of work, timing, costs) with a high level of accuracy including creation and issuing of price books.
Managing and monitoring project scope and leading customer negotiations on change

Independent reporting commercial / financial / project health to senior members of the management team.  Having a strong focus on the bottom line.

Be able to lead a cross functional team (though not directly reporting to you) to deliver Customer needs.  Builds strong teams with appropriate and diverse mix of styles, perspectives and experiences and empowers them to get things done.  Be able to lead technical discussions.
Be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills alongside robust and comprehensive technical knowledge / expertise

Depending on the project timings, some travel may be required outside of UK.
Usually 100% office based at Midlands Technical Centre, Leamington Spa

 

Essential Technical Knowledge:

Automotive experience, preferably motorsport drive train experience

Engineering degree or equivalent experience
Good working knowledge of MS Office, including MS Project
Excellent stakeholder management & communication
Aptitude for logical, methodical problem-solving using techniques such as 8D etc

 

Desireable Technical Knowledge:

APM member, ideally at full level or similar
Able to demonstrate continuous learning throughout their career
Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems LN system
