Role: IT Systems Engineer

Location: Shoreham-by-Sea, UK

Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced IT Server Administrator to manage our global on-premise servers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP, along with some UNIX/Linux experience.

 

Key activities:

Install, configure, and maintain on-premise servers running Windows Server operating systems.
Administer and maintain Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services.
Monitor server performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
Manage server security, including patches and updates, antivirus, and access controls.
Create and maintain documentation related to server configurations and procedures.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of server resources.
Participate in project planning and implementation related to server infrastructure.
Change management
Resolution of 2nd and 3rd line support tickets
Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed
Working to ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and NIST CSF standards
Any other objectives set for the Technology function from time to time

 

 

Key accountabilities:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in on-premise server administration.
Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware / Hyper-V.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable accountabilities:

Certification in Microsoft Windows Server.
Exchange & Azure Active Directory.
Amazon Web Services compute and storage.
PowerShell, Basic UNIX/Linux experience.
Networking, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP and related protocols.
