Job Description

Key accountabilities:

Mainly responsible for supporting Purchasing and Logistical tasks within the Manufacturing process, to support the manufacture of components.

Assisting in delivery and collection of sub contract processes

Driver support

This role will become an extension to the operational purchasing team that will identify, source, and deliver the outsourcing capacity of Manufacturing operations that are operating over capacity.

Additional/special features of the role:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Organising sub contract and out sourcing work, PO placement and expediting
Maintain all systems with latest commitment dates
System transactions for all component movements
Out sourcing of processes within Manufacture with capacity issues.
identify suppliers to carry out various functions, to ensure dual supply.
Driver/Courier organization and admin support – Van logs, safety, incident reporting, maintenance
Quote register, (Maintenance of filing, ensuring all RFQ’s from Manufacturing Engineering are obtained).
Summarising critical issues and thinking ahead to any future issues.
Working alongside the Shop Floor sections to help transition incoming work onto ongoing operations.
Adhoc driving to deliver/collect from suppliers.
Moving parts to relevant sections to ensure expeditious processing
Close liaison with manufacturing functions to agree priorities, daily morning meetings.
Reporting according to required departmental KPI measures.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment essential (preferably with machining)
Experience in using MRP/ERP systems (Infor LN preferable)
Commercially astute and able to analyse quotations
An ‘eye for quality’ with experience in supplier auditing preferred
Ability to interact with various areas of the business to ensure alignment

Good communication skills at all levels with ability to talk to suppliers with sensitivity to commercial factors
Ability to think and act as a ‘service provider’
Good level of PC and general computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel –
Happy to work within a team and alongside other experienced professionals
