Job Description

This role is for a new project so is an exciting opportunity to be involved from the concept of the assembly and test area.  The role will primarily be as a test technician, completing end of line testing and preparation of completed gearboxes for despatch to the Customer.  You should be able to analyse the results of gear box testing on a loaded test rig, recommending and undertaking, where necessary and time allows, reworks of the gearbox to pass tests.  Training and familiarity of process will be undertaken on existing gearbox programmes.

If time permits, there may also be some of the role supporting the build of the gearboxes.

Flexibility is required to support testing completion during single day and occasional evening shift work may be required (premium paid for this period)

This role will be 100% based at MTC. 

 

Education: Minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English (Grade C or above). Likely to have served an apprenticeship developing the relevant skills for this role. Further vocational qualifications and advantage.

Skills:

-Experience in the assembly and test of complex, high precision mechanical, hydraulic and or electrical systems.

- Precision measurement from first principles using manual measurement equipment.

- Ability to understand engineering design and assembly drawings.

 

Aptitude:

Working as part of a team to achieve team objectives.
Good communication skills with ability to speak with other team members in a clear concise manner.
Clear, logical thinker with the ability to understand and solve problems.

IT Skills: Intermediate level of PC and general computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
