Purpose:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Work within the Site Maintenance team to carry out all planned and reactive maintenance on a busy engineering site. The role would suit someone with a range of skills such as carpentry, bricklaying, roofing, plumbing and painting etc.
This will be a varied role where you will be working in an office environment at times but also in an industrial setting so experience of working on sites of a similar scale and scope is highly desirable.
Key accountabilities:
Essential
Reporting to the Building Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the following:
Planned and reactive maintenance such as: roof repairs, storm and foul drainage systems, asbestos maintenance, building repairs, fire precautions, water sampling, painting and road repairs.
Management of contractors
Working at height
Adhering to the Ricardo H&S policy and procedures
Working in collaboration with the rest of the Site Management department, made up of electricians, mechanical team and front of hours teams.
Depending on the project(s) worked on, the role will involve some travel.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both written & oral
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, matrix organization
Roles at Ricardo, Inc. are individually tied to Quality, Health and Safety policies and procedures. Further trainings and information will be reviewed upon start.
echnical leadership of teams of engineers involved in development of embedded software, including embedded software, systems, control, and functional safety engineers
Interface directly with clients on technical issues
Lead coordination of engineering teams, drawing on engineers from within Ricardo and from partners
Focus on delivery of projects on-time and on-budget
Technical negotiations with clients and support of commercial discussions
Driving the further introduction of quality procedures and validation processes
Support of the sales teams in the development of market opportunities through client interaction, proposal support and roadmap development
Promotion of capability throughout Ricardo’s global customer base
Provide technical input to Embedded Software team strategic development
Drive the development of future products and service.
QHSE responsibility for those with a team will include risk profiling, procedures, and provision of training.
Skills and behaviors

Computer Literate
Skilled in at least one trade

Carpentry experience

Painter/decorator experience
Plumbing experience
Construction site experience
experience of working in a similar team role on a comparative site

IPAF certified for Cherry Pickers and Scissor Lifts
Manual handling trained.
